CCBC Catonsville Falls 2-1 in Tight Battle with PGCC

Catonsville, MD – The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals went toe-to-toe with Prince George's Community College in a physical matchup on September 11, 2025, but came up just short in a 2-1 defeat.

PGCC struck first late in the opening half, when Patrice Ndo Koungo found the back of the net in the 40th minute to give the Owls a 1-0 lead. Catonsville responded early in the second half as Valentine Mudimba, assisted by David Nwachukwu, leveled the score at 1-1 in the 51st minute, giving the Cardinals new life.

The match stayed even until the 78th minute, when PGCC's Carlos Herrera capitalized on an opportunity and netted the game-winner. Despite pushing forward late, the Cardinals couldn't find the equalizer.

PGCC controlled much of the attack, outshooting Catonsville 13-3 and earning three corner kicks to the Cardinals' none. Catonsville goalkeeper Atendem Fuamazah was busy in net, making 4 saves on 6 shots on goal while playing all 90 minutes.

The game also saw its share of intensity, with three PGCC players receiving yellow cards in the second half.

Despite the loss, the Cardinals showed resilience, battling back after going down early and holding their ground against a strong PGCC side.
