CCBC Catonsville Baseball team defeated CCBC Dundalk in game one of their doubleheader, with an 18-4 win in five innings on Thursday, fueled by a relentless offensive performance. The Cardinals racked up 19 hits and scored in every inning, including a six-run second and a five-run third. Coby Vallee led the charge, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, and five RBIs, while Joel Tapia Melo added a homer and drove in five of his own. Jaedan Kelley contributed three hits, including two doubles, scored four times, and swiped two bases. A.J. Palumbo added three RBIs, and every Catonsville starter reached base. Dundalk managed six hits and four runs, but three defensive errors and ineffective pitching prevented them from keeping pace. AJ Bender contributed also with 7 strikeouts.
In game 2, CCBC Catonsville completed the sweep with a 12-4 win, improving to 24-18 overall and 17-10 in the conference. Dundalk jumped out to an early 3-1 lead through two innings, but Catonsville responded with steady offense, scoring in five of the seven frames, and once again taking advantage of defensive miscues. Joel Tapia Melo stayed hot, launching a three-run homer in the fifth and finishing 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Coby Vallee went 2-for-5 and delivered the knockout blow with a bases-clearing double in the seventh, bringing his RBI total to four. A.J. Palumbo added three RBIs of his own, and Lyonel Barthelemy scored twice and swiped two bases. On the mound, Clark Corlew earned the win with five solid innings, striking out five, while Dominick Venta closed it out with two innings of relief.
