CCBC Dundalk
Catonsville, MD – The Cardinals offense powered them to another doubleheader sweep on Thursday against CCBC Dundalk. They scored double digit runs in both games, winning 10-3 and 13-3.
Game 1
The middle of the lineup did major damage for the Cardinals in Game 1. A.J. Palumbo and Nelson Grajales led the way for Catonsville, driving in eight of their 10 runs. Palumbo was 2-3 with a double and a home run, while also driving in five runs. Grajales had two hits of his own and drove in three runs as well.
The pitching was led by Dominic DeBellis, who hung around long enough to get the win. He battled through 4.2 innings, allowing just two runs while striking out five and walking four. Joey Hurtado did a good job in relief, tossing 2.1 innings while allowing just one run. It was a great performance all around by the Cardinals.
Game 2
The offense was tremendous once again in Game 2. The game lasted just five innings, but the Cardinals scored in all five of those innings. They had four players with multiple hits, and eight of the nine starters reached base.
Jaedan Kelley led the way out of the leadoff spot for Catonsville, going 3-4 with a homerun, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Nelson Grajales also had three more hits in Game 2 and Sam Kelly had a 2-4 day with three RBIs.
Joel Tapia Melo got his second win of the season on the mound for Catonsville, tossing four innings while allowing three runs. Brayden Becker threw a scoreless inning in relief to end the game for Catonsville, capping off a dominant win.
