Catonsville, MD- The Cardinals displayed great resiliency in loss to the CSM Hawks.
CSM fired off 25 shots, 15 of them on goal, and had five different players find the back of the net. Sara Allwine led the charge with a hat trick, scoring three goals on four shots to power the Seahawks' attack. Kiera Salazar notched a hat trick of her own with three goals on three shots. Amber Jones, Faith Wright, and Elyssa Guy all tallied a goal apiece.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Cardinals showed moments of resilience. Alexandra Wilson scored Catonsville's lone goal, finishing off one of the team's two total shots.
In goal, Catonsville split time between Soleil Umbarger and Kayla Cox, who combined for nine saves under heavy pressure from CSM's offense. Umbarger stopped five shots in the first half, while Cox added a save after the break.
The loss drops Catonsville to 1-2 on the season, while CSM picks up their fourth win.
The Cardinals will host the Prince George's Owls on Thursday.
