Lady Cardinals fall to Lady Seahawks on the Road

Northeast MD- Jan 17, 2026-  The CCBC Lady Cardinals basketball team dropped their 2nd contest in a row on Saturday to conference opponent Cecil College 91-59.

The Cecil Seahawks came out firing in this contest as they led wire to wire for a 32 point victory at home. CCBC couldn't find it offensively as they were held to just 24% shooting from the field, as Cecil's defense is what kept them ahead in this contest. Cecil was led in scoring by Bri Shelton and Ja'Mya Muhammad with 22 points each, while Muhammad added 13 rebounds and 8 assists as well. Shelton added 6 threes while teammate Nydia Mack added 4 more for the Seahawks 10 total threes in the game. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Anaiya Morrison with 15 points and Keashiana Murphy with 13 points as well as 11 rebounds for a double-double.

The Seahawks improve to (6-8,2-3) as the Cardinals drop to .500 (8-8, 4-3). This is the Cardinals first losing streak since Nov 15, as they are 7-3 from that point. The Lady Cardinals will look to break this skid in their next contest at Garrett College, Wednesday January 21.
