Opponent: Essex County College Wolverines
Location: Newark, New Jersey
Time: 1:00 PM
Team Records: 2-1(CCBC Catonsville), 3-1(Essex County)
Scouting Report: The Wolverines enter this game 3-1 on the season, so the Cardinals will have to show out if they want to get a result. On paper this game looks to be very evenly matched with the teams averaging 67 points (Catonsville) and 64 points (Essex County).
The Cardinals defense will have to be on the lookout as three of the Wolverines players, freshman forwards Ja'Laiyah Smith (Bayonne) and Naomi Lucca (Dumont), as well as sophomore guard Chloe Cassidy, are all averaging over 11 points per game this season. Over the past two games, the Catonsville defense has not allowed opponents to score over 45 points, so the team will hope to continue this run of great defensive form.
On the other side of the ball, Essex County's defense has also shown it can perform well, averaging only 48 points allowed per game in their first four games this season. Sophomore guards Destiny Perry (Sparrows Point) and Amaree McKnight (National Christian Academy), alongside freshman guard Ah'niya Tillery (Coppin Academy) are all averaging 10 points per game. These three, alongside the rest of the team will look to infiltrate the Wolverine's well-performing defense.
