Cardinals Roll Past Chesapeake in Commanding Doubleheader Sweep

Wye Mills, MD -- CCBC Catonsville delivered a dominant performance on April 8, sweeping Chesapeake College in convincing fashion behind explosive offense and lockdown pitching.

The Cardinals opened the day with a 15-1 victory, erupting for 15 runs on 14 hits and setting the tone early with a six-run first inning. Gianna Guglielminetti led the charge with three RBI, while Alana Watts, Emily Fagan, Maggie Rowland, and Aliceanna Weibley all contributed multiple RBIs in a complete team effort. In the circle, Emily Fagan was nearly untouchable, allowing just one run on one hit while striking out six over five innings.

The Cardinals carried that momentum into Game 2, securing a 12-0 shutout to complete the sweep. Once again, the offense came alive early, plating five runs in the first inning and never looking back. Alana Watts continued her strong day with two RBI, while Ava Blum, Emily Fagan, and Aliceanna Weibley added key contributions at the plate. CCBC finished with 13 hits, showcasing depth throughout the lineup and consistent pressure on Chesapeake's defense.

Fagan capped off a stellar day by tossing a complete-game shutout in Game 2, allowing no hits and striking out nine, firmly controlling the game from start to finish. Across both games, the Cardinals combined for 27 runs and 27 hits, highlighting their offensive firepower and efficiency. The sweep reflects CCBC Catonsville's ability to dominate on both sides of the ball as they continue to build momentum in conference play.
