Cardinals Split Road Doubleheader at Southern Maryland

La Plata MD -- CCBC Catonsville split a competitive doubleheader against the College of Southern Maryland on April 1, powered by a strong offensive showing in Game 1 and a hard-fought effort in Game 2. 

The Cardinals opened the day with a commanding 9-4 victory, exploding for nine runs on nine hits. Emily Fagan led the charge with a perfect 4-for-4 performance and two RBI, while Alana Watts, Gianna Guglielminetti, and Aliceanna Weibley contributed key hits to keep the offense rolling. Fagan also earned the win in the circle, tossing a complete game and holding Southern Maryland to four runs.

The momentum shifted in Game 2, as the Cardinals fell 4-1 despite solid individual efforts at the plate. Alana Watts paced the offense with two hits, while Aliceanna Weibley drove in CCBC's lone run. Southern Maryland capitalized early and used timely hitting to build a lead that the Cardinals couldn't overcome, even as they continued to battle throughout the game.
