Catonsville MD, March 19, 2026 – Explosive Offense Leads Cards to DH Sweep
The Lady Cardinals softball team was fueled by strong at bats and solid pitching to sweep Jefferson Community College. A total of 22 runs on 23 hits and 8 walks by the offense in both games shortened the team's afternoon. In game 1, Emily Fagan and Gianna Guglielminetti knocked in 2 hits and 1 RBI a piece, including a solo shot from Guglielminetti in the 3rd inning; 9 of 13 batters each recorded at least 1 hit. Jules LeProhon notched her second win of the season, allowing only 1 earned run on 3 hits and striking out 3 in 5 innings pitched. In game 2, the offense picked up where they left off. 4 players recorded 2 hits each (Watts, Fagan, Guglielminetti, Miles) as Alana Watts earned player of the game honors with 3 RBI, 2 coming from a 3rd inning homer to left center field. Emily Fagan pitched 6 strong innings, giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits, but striking out a career-high 10 of 26 batters faced in her 4th win of the season.
The team looks to extend their 4-game win streak as they face Frederick Community College in a home doubleheader on Saturday, March 21st.
