Cardinals Soar over Dragons for Entry to the Final Four

Catonsville, MD – The Cardinals take the Dragons in a best two-of-three series to begin postseason play.

Cardinals Dominate Game 1

The Cardinals took game one 8-4, behind 11 total team hits. The bats were on fire for game one resulting in the Cardinals win led by Riley Nace, who had 3 Hits, and 2 Runs scored for the Cardinals. Kayla Musgrove and Emily Fagan contributed as well with 2 Hits and 2 RBIs each.  

 

Bats Cool off in Game 2

The Cardinals dropped game two 6-2. Only tallying 4 total team hits, the bats did not come alive in time for the Cardinals. Kayla Musgrove was the highlight of the team going 2 for 3 at the plate. Pitching was a combined effort between Makayla Ellingson and Emily Fagan. The two combined for only 3 earned runs out of the 6 total. 

 

Hitting Shines in Game 3 

The hitting for the Cardinals was exceptional, as the Cardinals tallied 9 hits as a team, while only striking out twice. Madison Krupiewski led the charge, going 3 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Emily Fagan and Riley Nace tallied 2 hits a piece in the win.  

Pitching Dominates 

Emily Fagan dominated game 3 on the mound, holding Howard Community College to no runs through 5 innings. Fagan also struck out 5 during the outing, giving her team the best opportunity to win, and the Cardinal's bats provided run support as they won in just 5 innings, 8-0.

 

Cardinals Advance 

With the win, the #3 Cardinals advanced to the next round of the playoffs, where they will face off against #2 College of Southern Maryland on Friday, May 9th at 4:30pm. The Final Four of Region 20 will all be held at CCBC Catonsville.
