Lady Cardinals drop first game hosting Howard, but rally hard for a big win in game two

Game 1: Cardinals 0 (3-4), Dragons 8 (5-13). WP – Samantha Hobert (2-9), LP – Camryn Cropper (1-3).

• The Dragons came out swinging, tallying four hits in the top of the 1^st, but only bringing in one run
• The game would slow down in the 2^nd and 3^rd innings where the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Dragons after three innings
• The Dragons then put up four more hits in the top of the 4^th, bringing in two runs on a triple from Danielle Thompson and a single from Grace Tolle
• The Dragons then brought on the downpour in the top of the 5^th with 5 RBIs on hits from Danielle Thompson, Katelyn Burdette, and Brittney Dix
• The Cardinals would only put up two hits throughout the contest, both coming from Makenzie Brooks
• The game came to an end after five innings with Dragons on top 8-0

Game 2: Cardinals 12 (4-4), Dragons 4 (5-14). WP – Felicity Voss (1-1). LP – Erika Goodwin (3-5).

• The Dragons once again had a commanding start after bringing in two runs in the top of the 1^st
• The Cardinals responded promptly with Erin McGuire hitting a bomb to right field for a triple to bring home Felicity Voss
• Abigail Heagy then hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring in McGuire to tie the game after one inning
• Felicity Voss set the tone in the bottom of the 2^nd after hitting a homerun
• The Cardinals scored four more runs in the bottom of the 2^nd on a double from Makenzie Brooks, a single from TaShae Welsh, and a costly error from the Dragons that brought in two runs
• Three more RBIs would be collected for the Cards in the bottom of the 3^rd on a double from Makenzie Brooks and a single from Camryn Cropper, putting the Cardinals in the lead 10-2
• The Dragons would put up two runs in the top of the 4^th inning, but would find it hard to do so for the reminder of the game
• The Cardinals would add two more runs before the end of the game on RBIs from Erin McGuire and Abigail Heagy for a victory of 12-4
