Lady Cardinals season comes to an end

Catonsville, MD- The Lady Cardinals season has come to an end.

After a season of injury battling and COVID-19 regulations, the CCBC Catonsville softball team concludes their season. They finished 9-20 on the year with a team batting average of .353. After their regular season, the Lady Cardinals would travel to Anne Arundel Community College for a Region XX play-in game, where they defeated the Riverhawks 5-0. Mackenzie Brooks really nailed the win for the team with a 3-run shot to right field.

The team would then travel to #1 Hagerstown with just 9 players. Despite losing to them in by a whopping 18 runs earlier in the season, the Lady Cardinals-with just 9 athletes to work with- finished 7 innings with a tie. It would not be until the bottom of the 8th when Hagerstown sealed the win. Unfortunately, the Cardinals had to forfeit their losers bracket game against Frederick Community College to end their season.

  • Abigail Heagy led the team hitting .479/.575/.845 and led the team in homeruns with 6- which is also tied for first in the MD JUCO conference. Heagy leads MD JUCO in batting average as well.
