Cumberland, MD – The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals delivered a strong all-around performance on the road Tuesday afternoon, creating multiple scoring chances and matching Allegany College of Maryland shot for shot, but ultimately fell just short in a 2–1 contest.
The Cardinals generated several early opportunities before Allegany broke through late in the first half, when Gavin Clayton scored in the 44th minute to give the Trojans a 1–0 lead at halftime.
CCBC came out determined in the second half and quickly found the equalizer. In the 63rd minute, Christ Dokore buried a shot off a corner kick to tie the game at 1–1, energizing the Cardinals' sideline. Allegany responded just four minutes later as Riley McCutcheon scored the eventual game-winner in the 66th minute.
The Cardinals continued to press for the remainder of the match, recording 13 total shots, including 11 on goal and earning five corner kicks. Goalkeeper Atendem Fuamazah kept CCBC within striking distance, making five saves in a strong performance between the posts.
Midfielders Michael Muchai, Kevin Diaz, and Dokore led the offensive charge, while defenders Gabriel Priet and Kham Sing anchored a disciplined back line that limited Allegany's opportunities in the second half.
