Bel Air, Md. – September 30, 2025 – The CCBC Catonsville men's soccer team fell 5-0 to Harford Community College on Tuesday evening, as the Fighting Owls used a dominant second-half performance to secure the victory in Maryland JUCO play.
After a scoreless first half, the Cardinals' defensive unit, led by goalkeeper Atenden Fumazah, kept the game within reach. Fumazah tallied 12 saves on the night, including several key stops that kept Harford frustrated in the opening 45 minutes. Despite the strong defensive effort, the Cardinals were unable to convert on their own opportunities, recording just four shots on goal for the match.
Harford broke through in the 27th minute when Kyle Blevins scored off an assist from Michael Cespedes. The Owls continued to build momentum after halftime, as Cristian Lopez-Contreras netted back-to-back goals in the 57th and 67th minutes. Jordan Battaglia extended the lead with an unassisted strike in the 74th minute, and Simon Kramaric added the final goal in the 87th minute to close out the scoring.
With the loss, CCBC Catonsville drops to 1-5-2 overall and 1-5-1 in MD JUCO play. Harford improves to 8-4-0 overall and 8-1-0 in the conference, strengthening their position near the top of the standings. The Cardinals will look to regroup as they return home for their next match and aim to get back in the win column.
