Catonsville Honors Devin Cook with Lacrosse Fest
Mark your calendars, Cardinals fans! August 5th will see CCBC Catonsville host the ninth annual Devin Day Lacrosse Fest!
Devin Day IX will honor former CCBC Catonsville lacrosse star Devin Cook, who tragically passed away on August 1, 2014, in an off-campus incident. Cook was just 20 years old.
Cook played midfield for the Cardinals during the 2014 season. He scored 13 goals and nine assists for a total of 22 points as a freshman. The highlight of the year was a hat trick against Howard on April 12, 2014.
Off the field, Cook was a gifted student and community member. Growing up in Baltimore, Cook volunteered at the local Green Street Academy, teaching lacrosse to special-needs children. His death was a shock to the community, but the impact he had still lingers to this day.
The annual lacrosse fest will feature multiple games for all ages, plus a cookout and family activities.
