Cardinals Win vs Chesapeake Amid Controversy

Catonsville Md, Feb 11, 2026 – Cardinals win tense matchup vs Chesapeake after controversial call. 

 

In a defense prominent game, the Cardinals were tested early by the Skipjacks, forced to take tough shots and struggled to score until the 16-minute mark of the first half. Going into the second half, the teams continued to go back and forth, exchanging points and turnovers. However, the Cardinals made their mark at the free throw line, shooting 78.3% from the stripe which proved to be the difference in the game. Up by 5 late in the second half, the Cardinals surrendered a 10-0 run to put Chesapeake back in the lead, but heroic efforts by Kamren Hayes brought the team back. Hayes hit the game tying 3-pointer with 0:55 seconds to go, keeping his double-digit scoring streak alive. With 0:01 second to go, Hayes was fouled behind the 3-point line, sparking controversy, but ultimately guided the Cardinals to a 57-54 victory. Yassir Supreme led all scorers with 17 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Hayes with 15. 

 

The Cardinals return to action to face Washington Adventist on Tuesday, Feb 17th as they close out the season at home.
