Cardinals get Big First Road Win

Northeast MD- Jan 17, 2026- The CCBC Men's Basketball team got a big road win over conference opponent Cecil College (11-7, 3-1) handing them their first Region 20 loss this past Saturday 76-58.

The Cardinals had a complete performance in this one as they led the entire contest from the 11-minute mark in the first half. CCBC's defense was key in this victory as they forced 26 turnovers, doubling their 13. Kamren Hayes led the contest in scoring with 28 points, shooting over 60 percent from the field, also adding in 3 steals. Cecil had three double digit scorers with Marcus Edmond Jr (14), Xavier Richards-Powell (13), and Jeremiah Falko (10), but not much else contribution, as they were held to 18 percent shooting from behind the arc. DJ Thomas led the contest with 5 steals as the Cardinals defensive pressure set them apart. As a team the Cardinals shot 49 percent from the field and 44 percent from three making for an efficient night.

This was the Cardinals' best performance as of late as they put it together on both sides of the floor for their first road win of the season. The Cardinals 4 game road trip will end on Wednesday January 21 as they travel to Garrett College as they look to get their 2nd straight victory.
