Bolivia NC – November 22-23, – The CCBC Cardinals men's basketball team dropped two tough contests over the weekend at Brunswick CC in their pre-thanksgiving classic, falling 76-63 to the hosts Brunswick, and 76-67 to Wake Technical Community College.
On Saturday, the Cardinals would face the hosts Brunswick who would get out to a hot start and take the lead into halftime up eleven. The Cardinals would play a better 2nd half but weren't able to make up the deficit, falling 76-63 at the final. Kamren Hayes would lead the Cardinals in scoring with 22 points, shooting 3-8 from 3. Messiah Anderson and Khalil Montgomery were also in double figures with 14 and 10 respectively. The Cardinals struggled from the line in this one shooting 60 percent, but they would look to shake things off for their matchup Sunday against Wake Technical CC.
The Cardinals would look to split their trip down to North Carolina with a win over Wake Technical, but would fall 76-67 in their Sunday contest. The Cardinals shooting struggles would continue going just 4-19 from three and shooting 35 percent from the field. Despite this they were able to keep the game within reach but couldn't overcome in the end. Kamren Hayes led in points with 17, while Messiah Anderson added a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
CCBC Catonsville (2-6) will look to bounce back on Tuesday November 25 as they travel to Montgomery College(4-2) for a conference matchup before Thanksgiving break.
