Largo, Md. – The CCBC Catonsville men's basketball team put up a strong offensive performance but came up short in a 92-80 road loss to Prince George's Community College on Thursday night at Novak Field House. Despite a fast-paced game and several standout efforts, the Cardinals were unable to slow down the Owls' efficient shooting and second-chance scoring.
The Cardinals kept the game competitive throughout the first half, trailing just 46-42 at the break. Kamren Hayes had 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, Messiah Anderson with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Yassir Supreme with a whopping 22 points and 7 rebounds to anchor the interior scoring.
Prince George's, however, maintained control by shooting 47.4% from the floor and dominating the free-throw line, finishing 20-for-37 compared to Catonsville's 8-for-17. The Owls' balanced attack was led by Willie Rivera Jr., who posted 26 points and 6 assists, and Paul Vance III, who added 10 rebounds. PGCC's ability to convert second-chance points and maintain defensive pressure gave them enough separation down the stretch.
With the loss, CCBC Catonsville drops to 2-5 overall, but the strong offensive showing highlighted the team's improved ball movement and scoring depth. The Cardinals will look to build on these positives as they prepare to return home for their next matchup.
