Cardinals Fall to Host's Brunswick
Brunswick, NC-The second of two contests in the Brunswick CC classic ended in a tough four-point loss for the Cardinals. The hosts Brunswick CC pulled away from the Cardinals after winning the second half by six points. The Cardinals were the winners of the first half by two points. The Cardinals led in many categories like rebounding, three-point shooting, and turnover margin. However, the Cardinals were held to 36 percent shooting from the field while Brunswick shot 46 percent.
Lance Porter led in scoring just like in the Brunswick classic opener. He shot 9-15 from the field with 22 points while adding 2 blocks on the defensive end. Micah Morgan was behind Porter in scoring with 19,13 of which from the free throw line. He also filled the stat sheet with 10 assists, 6 boards, and 4 steals. Wendall Tomlin led the Cardinals in rebounds with 9 and was the third Cardinal with double digit scoring, adding 17 points. The Cardinals as a team went 26-33 from the free throw line. Derrick Green for Brunswick was a perfect 8-8 from the field and led in scoring with 19. Landon King added 18 points for Brunswick, while Armani Henderson and Cam Oates added 13 each.
The Cardinals split their two contests in the Brunswick Classic and have a 10 day break before going to Baltimore City Community College.
