Cardinals Win in Extras over CSM

La Plata, MD- The CCBC Cardinals captured an extra innings road win over the College of Southern Maryland 7-4 in 10 innings.

The Cardinals and Hawks would go back and forth all game, but the Cardinals would be the ones with the first and last runs of the game. Wyatt Bickers opened up the game with a 3 run home run, followed by a Nick Midili 2 run shot to get an early 3-0 lead. Lucas Livingston would get the start for CCBC, going 5 innings, and 5 K's with just 2 earned runs allowed. The CSM Hawks would respond in the bottom of the third inning, with a two run home run, and would tie the game in the bottom half of the fourth inning. The game would remain tied until the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single by Mason McReynolds to give the Hawks their first lea. Skylar Jersey would score via walk, error, and passed ball in order to tie it at 4-4. The game would go to extra innings, as the Cardinals would match their first inning run total of 3 with a Skylar Jersey two run shot, followed by another CSM error later in the inning which would score Damir Simon. Cam Sisson would go the final five innings on the mound for CCBC getting the win, and gathering 5 K's allowing just 1 run.

The Cardinals road trip continues Tuesday April 23, as they travel to Cecil for a 9 inning matchup.
