Cardinals Drop Doubleheader to Montgomery College

Catonsville, MD – April 14, 2026 – Cardinals Drop Doubleheader to Montgomery College

The Cardinals were unable to secure a win as they dropped both games of a doubleheader against the Montgomery Raptors, falling 11-8 in game one and 7-6 in game two. Despite strong offensive moments throughout the day, Catonsville struggled to contain Montgomery's big innings.

In game one, both teams started quietly before the Raptors got on the board with a solo home run in the second inning. The Cardinals responded with a three-run inning, highlighted by RBIs from Nick Midili and Herick Vital, along with aggressive baserunning to take the lead. However, the Raptors answered with a five-run third inning and added three more in the fourth, including a three-run home run, to take control.

The Cardinals continued to battle, scoring in the third and fifth inning and putting together a three-run rally in the seventh. Skyler Jersey delivered an RBI single and later score on an error, while Damir Simon added an RBI single to bring Catonsville within reach, but they were unable to complete the comeback.

Game two saw the Cardinals come out strong with a four-run first inning with Hunter Anderson and AJ Perry both adding an RBI single while Midili delivered a Double RBI to gain the Cardinals an early advantage. But the Raptors would respond with a two-run home run in the second inning and later took the lead with a three-run fifth inning.

Catonsville showed effort throughout, including an RBI triple in the fourth and solo home run in the sixth from Jersey, but struggled to generate consistent offense later. Montgomery added insurance runs in the final innings and held the Cardinals scoreless in the seventh to complete the sweep.

The Cardinals will look to regroup and bounce back as they host the Allegany Trojans for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 18 at 12 PM.
