Cardinals Fall to Anne Arundel Despite Early Offensive Push

Catonsville, MD - On April 7th, the CCBC Catonsville dropped its matchup against Anne Arundel Community College, falling 8-4 despite a strong start at the plate. 

The Cardinals jumped out early, scoring two runs in the first inning and showing promise offensively behind multi-hit performances from Wyatt Bickers and Yamil Santiago. Skyler Jersey and Damir Simon each drove in runs to help CCBC stay competitive, but Anne Arundel responded with consistent scoring, including a late push that widened the gap.

On the mound, Chance Griffin delivered a solid outing, tossing seven innings while allowing four earned runs and keeping the Cardinals within striking distance for much of the game. However, Anne Arundel capitalized on key opportunities, stringing together timely hits to shift momentum in their favor.

Despite collecting nine hits as a team, CCBC was unable to convert enough scoring opportunities down the stretch. Defensive miscues also proved costly, as Anne Arundel took advantage to extend innings and add insurance runs.
