Essex, MD - March 14, 2026 – Cardinals Split Doubleheader at CCBC Essex
The Cardinals earned a split on the road against CCBC Essex, rallying late to take game one 7-5 before falling in game two 8-4. Catonsville showed persistence throughout the day, combining timely hitting with competitive play on both sides.
In game one, Essex built an early 5-1 lead through three innings, but the Cardinals responded in the later frames. A three-run home run from Yamil Santiago in the sixth inning tied the game and provided a spark offensively. In the seventh, Wyatt Bickers drove in the go-ahead run with a single, and Damir Simon followed with a two-run home run to extend the lead. Essex was held scoreless over the final innings as the Cardinals completed the comeback victory.
Game two featured a strong start for Catonsville, including a solo home run from Skyler Jersey and additional runs in the third and fourth innings to take an early lead. Essex answered in the sixth inning with a series of productive at-bats to move ahead. Catonsville continued to compete and generate opportunities throughout the game but ultimately fell 8-4.
