Cardinals Swing Hot Bats on Their Florida Road Trip

Feb 14-18, 2026- The CCBC Cardinals baseball team took a trip down to Florida to kick off their 2026 campaign, where they played a competitive week of baseball in great conditions against great competition to prepare for a lengthy and hopefully successful, healthy season. The Cardinals would go 0-5 on their trip but would keep each game close against schools that have been geared up for months. Notable performances include Feb 16 and 17 where the offense would explode for 19 runs in the two contests to go with 26 hits. Standout performances on the road trip include Skyler Jersey hitting .474/.500/.789 to go with a 2b,3b, and HR on the trip, while leading the team in runs and 2nd in RBI with 6. Yamil Santiago would lead the Cardinals in RBI with 7, while getting on base at a .444 clip. Damir Simon would draw 5 walks (most on trip), getting on base at a .611 rate, to go with 3 hits, 3 runs, and 4 RBI.

12 of the 15 Cardinals to register an at bat would record a base hit on the trip, an encouraging sign to see the offense play so well to start the season. Pitching was a to be expected struggle as it was some of their first trips to an actual mound for these Cardinal pitchers as it was a cold and snowy offseason. The Cardinals return to Maryland for play March 5th against Harford where they will look to have a successful season in MDJUCO and NJCAA Region 20 play.
