To lead off the bottom half of the fourth inning, Tony D'Angeli (Columbia, MD), would double to left field. Two batters later Tomas Martinez (West New York, NJ), reached first on an error by the first basemen, allowing D'Angeli to advance to third base. Next batter up Noah Deluca (Odenton, MD), was up to bat when he hit a sacrifice fly to center field, advancing D'Angeli home to tie the game at 2-2.
In the fifth inning, Perez Jr doubled to center field to start off the inning. Next batter up Roman March (Baltimore, MD), grounded out to the pitcher, which advanced Perez Jr to third base. Immediately after that Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly to left field, which scored Perez Jr from third base. The Cardinals would take the lead 3-2 at the end of the fifth.
Nobody scored in the sixth inning, and when the seventh inning came rolling around the Hawks were able to get one runner on base on a single, but then the next three batters were retired one, two, three, and off to the bottom of the seventh inning. The inning started with a single to left field from March, who then stole second. Alex Elliot (Clarksville, MD), then singled to center field, driving in March to make the score 4-2 Cardinals in the lead.
In the top of the eighth inning, Weaver was able to retire the side, with the Hawks batters being set down back to back to back. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Martinez started the inning off with a double to right center field. Deluca was due up next, and he singled to the pitcher advancing Martinez to third base.
