The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals Baseball team is getting ready to host the Region XX tournament next month. Over the last week, the Cardinals played four divisional opponents and won two of those games. Rodriguez improved his average to .462 on the season, which is the third highest in the Maryland JUCO conference.
The Cardinals travelled to Dundalk to take on their other rivals, CCBC Dundalk Lions, on Thursday afternoon. The Lions won the game, 12-5; the Cardinals scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth inning but could not keep up the pace with the Lions.
They travelled to play Allegany College of Maryland for a doubleheader on Saturday. The two teams split the doubleheader with Allegany winning the first game, 6-5 and the Cardinals winning the second game, 7-6 to improve their record to 17-20 on the season.
This week, the Cardinals take on Potomac State for a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, before travelling home to take on Community College of Rhode Island for four games. The Cardinals will play Community College of Rhode Island in a single game on Friday afternoon and then a triple header on Saturday starting at 10 AM.
