CATONSVILLE, MD - As the seasons come to an end, we would like to take this time to congratulate all athletes and teams on an outstanding year here at CCBC Catonsville! The following student athletes below have received All-MD JUCO and ALL-Region XX DII Honors:
The CCBC Catonsville Coaches, TJ Prioleau, Andre Ifill and Moneshia Davis are conducting summer basketball skills academy camps. Camp instructors are all former NCAA level players and current Cardinal Coaches. Current players will assist in the camp instruction to help campers receive individualized instruction within a group setting. The focus will be on gaining fundamentals, more advanced skills and developing confidence on the court.
Catonsville, MD – With less than a week before they open up Region XX tournament play, the CCBC Catonsville Lady Cardinals are primed and focused to make another run to a National Tournament appearance.
Ke’Andre Gibson, The Cardinal’s star point guard, has been named into Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference first team! He leads the team for total points scored racking up a striking 422 throughout his debut season for the Card’s. The sophomore guard has only had three single figure games this year and has hit over 15 points in 17 games, definitely a record to be proud of. His scoring record aside, Gibson also turned provider this season, dishing out an astonishing 228 assists.
CATONSVILLE, MD – CCBC Catonsville Men’s Basketball Team led by 10 points at the half, but outscored Northern Virginia Community College 65-38 in the second half as they completed a 6-1 month of January, and defeated the Night Hawks 109-72 on Tuesday night.
Arnold, MD – Ke’Andre Gibson had 28 points and dished out 8 assists, while Montaque Wright had 26 points and 3 steals as the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals defeated the Anne Arundel Community College Riverhawks 95-90 in overtime.
CATONSVILLE, MD – Guard Cheyenne Howell had fourteen points and three steals for the women, and guard Ke’Andre Gibson led the Men with twenty-one points as the Cardinals of CCBC Catonsville swept a Saturday double dip from visiting Frederick Community College.
As cross country head coach Mark Pryor and his young freshman runner Jamal Richards were boarding the plane for Kansas City on Thursday, Coach Pryor asked Jamal a recurring question: “Are you having fun yet”.
In its first year of competition, after a 20+ year absence, CCBC Catonsville’s cross country team will be represented at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Nov 12th in Eldorado, Kansas hosted by Butler Community College. http://www.njcaa.org/sports/mxc/2016-17/div1/national_championship/index
CCBC Catonsville head coach Mark Pryor was confident that his runners were in good shape and ready to perform well. While running to the first mile mark during Saturday’s NJCAA Region XX race at Lake Fairfax Park, Pryor looked back and saw his freshman Jamal Richards (Western HS) leading the field.
